Well .. Hello .
Hello ! I’m Ari.
Taking note of Ari’s unamused face, James began fist-pumping. “Now that,” he suddenly stopped fist-pumping, “Was tragic. And he should have known better to count Mississippiley,” he shrugged. “I would probably tan at the beach or something, seeing that I can’t swim and all.”
Ari laughed “Seriously though, who over 10 counts Mississippiley ? He totally had it coming” She turned her body towards James, and sat on her legs resting her arm over the back of the couch. “Don’t you wish you knew how to swim though ? Hey I think that water magnifies the rays that make you tan too.”
James dropped his jaw in false shock of Ari’s reaction. “I resent that,” he said as he covered his chest the best he could with his arms. “Because spray tans are a gateway to gelled hair and obnoxious jewelry. Plus they’re cold and I make a good nightlight,” he shrugged, getting comfortable on the couch.
Ari sat on the couch next to him “Uh oh, don’t you dare bring the Jersey Shore to Ohio ! I was thinking more along the line of that friends episode where Ross ‘tries’ to get a spray tan.”
Laughing, James bowed and replied in the same silly accent as Ari. “Thank you, malady.” Tossing the pillows on the couch in any given way, James gave up on trying to find his shirt and used the blanket from before. “Am I glowing with paleness?” He chuckled.
Ari laughed when she replied with an accent. She put a hand in front of her eyes pretending to be blinding ” Stop it, it’s so bright it’s burning my eyes” she said before bringing her hand down and grinning “If you are so self-conscious about it you should go get a spray tan.”
“So she casually buys pillows in sets of 10?” James asked as he titled his head. “That’s innovative,” he said to himself as Ari disappeared up the stairs. He usually slept in his boxers at home, but compromised when he slept over at someone else’s house. Taking off his shirt, he rummaged through his bag trying to find the shirt he packed to sleep in.
"Not innovative, excessive." she said over her shoulder before climbing up the tsairs and going into her room. She threw all the pillows her mother insisted on decorating here bed with on the couch the minute she left for their 4th of July vacation. Grabbing two of them and changing their pillowcases she made her way pack down stairs. "Your pillows sir" she said with a stupid accent , while holding them out.
“Sure thing,” he said as she handed off the DVD.”Really? Shaun of the Dead?” James asked incredulously. “You can tolerate that, but not this,” he said gesturing wildly to the movie. “Paradox,” he gently accused as he placed his movie into in his overnight bag. “So how about those pillows?”
"Hey, there’s enough comedy to hide the horror in that movie. " she said with a frown. "Sure I’ll grab a few from my room. My mother is a pillow whore, she puts 10 on every bed and doesn’t really care that normal people only use one" Ari rolled her eyes and started making her way upstairs.
“What is that her power?” He joked. “The couch is fine, but I wasn’t really paranoid about your dad until now,” James frowned. Even if he was sleeping downstairs and completely away from his daughter. “I don’t wanna to come raging in here thinking I’m out to like…corrupt you or anything,” he blushed.
"Nope. which makes it even more creepy." She smiled "Tell me when you want to sleep and I’ll fetch some pillows for you." Laughing as he frowned obviously thinking about a rabid father chasing him out she answered "I think the corruption was already done with that awful movie, but yeah, fathers to teenage daughters tend to be over protective." She went to the TV and crouched down, taking the DVD out and putting it back into it’s box before handing it back to James "Oh and next time we are watching Shawn of the Dead. I can tolerate that."
“That actually happened to me once. ‘Cept it was a table, and our babysitter was the absolute worst,” he frowned at the memory and unconsciously rubbed his nose. “You can never be too careful,” he shrugged. “Well, it would be rude to invite myself over and then stay the night…” he began with false contemplation. “So yes, I am,” he smirked.
Ari smiled at his statement “I wish I could let you sleep in Valerie’s room so you’d be more comfortable but she hates people using her stuff and she has this creepy ability to find out when people have.” she said with a sigh. “Do you mind sleeping on the couch ? If it’s too small or anything there’s an air mattress that I can bring down. Oh and don’t worry about being chased out in the morning by my furious father or anything, my parents won’t come back for 2 days, they’re on their annual 4th of July trip”
